The Australian Brain Cancer Foundation is getting ready to organise a Brain Cancer Navigator Position for the Canberra Region. This service will provide free advice and real support to families and brain cancer patients in the Canberra region, including paediatric patients. We estimate that the program will cost $170,000 per annum and are currently in the process of finalising the costs and agreements for this invaluable position.
This initiative fuels the most promising research on brain cancer in the ACT region, led by young and brilliant minds who are carefully evaluated by our esteemed Medical Advisory Committee. The Australian Brain Cancer Foundation funds scholarships, fellowships and research grants for teams who are looking to make a significant impact in brain cancer treatment, diagnosis and prevention.
The ABCF believes it is essential to invest in advanced medical equipment and build critical infrastructure to support clinicians, researchers, and, most importantly, patients. Without cutting-edge technology and access to brain cancer-specific diagnostic and surgical tools in Canberra, patients are often forced to seek treatment out of state, facing a lower standard of care.
