About the ABCF

The Australian Brain Cancer Foundation (ABCF) was founded to address the urgent gaps in brain cancer care, awareness, research and treatment. The ABCF brings initiatives like the Brain Cancer Support Team to Canberra, which will be delivered by the Peace of Mind Foundation, through their Community Brain Cancer Navigator program, the Research in Brain Cancer Initiatives and the Medical Equipment Initiative to enhance patient care.

Through the collaboration with medical professionals and institutions as well as patients, families and carers, these initiatives aim to improve the quality of life for brain cancer patients and their families.

About the Canberra Brain Cancer Support Team (CBCST)

The Brain Cancer Support Team (BCST) closes the gap in emotional, social, psychological and practical support not covered by the healthcare system. Our supports include community-based navigation and supportive care; in-home or inpatient visits, counselling, and small financial aid grants program.

It is a unique role of continuity; from point of diagnosis right through to bereavement and understanding loss, our Brain Cancer Support Team helps patients and families navigate the challenges of living with brain cancer.

Our Brain Cancer Support Team visits patients and families all across the ACT and surrounding regions offering support and guidance tailored to the needs of each patient and their family in a kind and compassionate manner.

The service is based in Canberra and currently servicing the ACT and surrounding regions and operated by Peace of Mind Foundation. Referral to our Brain Cancer Support Team can come from anyone and is available free of charge, whether you are in the private or public health system.
